Sustainability can be practiced in the smallest of ways, including our own habits in how we participate in our food system - such as how we grow or buy, preserve, and dispose of the food we use. In other words, how we practice living food sustainably, or 'food-stainably.'
Sustainability matters because through the protection and careful use of our natural resources, our lives are improved and made easier - as well as the lives of future generations.
A food system describes the activities and relationships involved right from the start of our food production, to the end with the consumption of food and eventual disposal of any waste.
Our youth team is part of Co-Creating a Sustainable BC (CCSBC), an initiative run by the non-profit organization the Fraser Basin Council. CCSBC aims to get youth aged 16-30 involved in climate action and sustainability through youth-led projects.
